Live web search lets Chatbotappai pull in current information from the web while you chat, so answers can reflect things that happened after a model's training cutoff or that simply need a fresh source.
What live web search does
When a model uses live web search, it looks up relevant pages on the web and uses them to inform its answer. You will typically see a short list of sources cited alongside the response, so you can check where the information came from and open the original page if you want more detail.
When it triggers
Live web search is applied automatically when it is useful for your question, such as:
- Questions about recent events, news, or anything time-sensitive
- Requests for current prices, scores, schedules, or other data that changes often
- Topics where the model's own knowledge may be outdated or incomplete
For general knowledge questions, creative writing, or tasks that do not need current information, the model will usually answer directly without searching.
Sources shown
When a response is backed by web search, you will see the sources it used listed with the answer. This helps you verify the information and dig deeper into the original page if needed.
Which models support it
Live web search works across the models available in Chatbotappai. If you are using Auto, the app will pick a suitable model and use search when it is helpful. If you have picked a specific model from the model picker, search is still applied automatically when your question calls for it.
Do I need to turn it on
There is no separate switch to find in Settings. Web search is part of how your Pro subscription answers questions and is used automatically based on your question, at no extra charge beyond your normal usage.
