If you got a Chatbotappai verification email but didn't request one, don't worry, your account has not been compromised just from receiving this email. It usually means someone typed your email address by mistake, either while creating a new account or while trying to sign in with the email verification code method.
Why this happens
Chatbotappai supports signing in with email plus a 6-digit verification code (as well as Sign in with Google). If someone enters your email address on the sign-in or sign-up screen, our system sends the verification code to your inbox since it has no way of knowing the email doesn't belong to them.
What to do
- Do not share the 6-digit code with anyone, and don't enter it anywhere yourself unless you are the one actively trying to sign in. The code is the only thing needed to access an account tied to that email, so treat it like a password.
- If you did not request the email, simply ignore and delete it. No action is required on your end for a single unexpected code.
- If you already have a Chatbotappai account and want extra peace of mind, go to Settings > Account and reset your password so any prior access attempt is invalidated.
- If you keep receiving these emails, or you suspect someone is repeatedly trying to access your account, contact our support team right away at https://support.chatbotappai.ai so we can help secure it.
Good habits to protect your account
- Never read out or paste your verification code to anyone, including someone claiming to be Chatbotappai support. We will never ask you for your code.
- Use a strong, unique password for your account, and update it from Settings > Account if you ever suspect it may be known to someone else.
- Consider using Sign in with Google instead of email codes if you'd prefer an additional layer tied to your Google account's own security.
